Westerly Discus 33 for Sale
16th March 2020
Before the Coronavirus outbreak in the UK really took hold, I set about preparing Andromeda prior to launch. There weren't too many tasks to complete just the usual rig check, re-check the seacocks, fuel filter change and test the engine. The deck had a jet wash, the gas system had a once over, sails were hanked on, water tanks filled, batteries charged, covers removed, hull polished, some running rigging replaced. It was also good to meet up with a number of Felixstowe Ferry Club members as well for a bit of a social.
Monday 16th March Big A was ready to dip her keels. The boatyard serviced the mooring prior to playing boat Tetris in the yard with the tractor and cradle to free Big A out of her winter lair.
The weather played ball, with glorious sunshine and light winds, with Andromeda hitting the water around 1600hrs.
Tuesday was the first sail of the year, just a test up to Waldringfield and back. Just about the only boat on the river, what with it being early season and everyone keeping themselves to themselves with the virus.
