About Andromeda

About The Westerly Discus

One of the classic Laurent Giles Westerly designs. Initially launched as a bridge-deck version (Andromeda) of the Westerly 33's in order to fit a double berth in the aft cabin. Westerly also built an aft cabin version.

Literally a true blue water cruiser and made famous by the Reverend Bob Shepton who took (and still takes) "Dodo's Delight" to the highest latitudes of any Westerly Yacht.

In total around 300 Westerly Discus' were built with Andromeda being number 117 based upon the yard number and number 111 based upon the sail number. Further information regarding Westerly Discus' can be found on the Westerly Owners Association website

Andromeda (aka Big Andrea by some of the local sailors), has covered many nautical miles from the Mediterranean to the Baltics, and has been well maintained by her owners.
